Privacy advocates lost a friend last night when Rep. Richard Boucher got dumped. In May, he proposed sweeping online privacy legislation, something that consumer advocates had been begging for. Alas, the law was never introduced. Now, you might see some new online privacy rules, but don’t expect a “Privacy Act.”
