Graphene — a sheet of carbon atoms linked in a hexagonal, chicken wire structure — could someday make electronic devices smaller, faster and more energy-efficient. Researchers have demonstrated that mounting graphene on boron nitride instead of silicon oxide dramatically improves its electronic properties.
