Alcoa Defense has joined the Lockheed Martin team that will compete to build the armed services’ next-generation family of light military trucks known as the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). Intended to replace the ubiquitous High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), JLTV variants will give the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps a high-performance vehicle designed to carry mission payloads, survive multiple threats and still remain readily transportable by heavy lift helicopters and cargo aircraft.
