A privacy issue has been identified in Microsoft Edge, where it automatically sends the URLs of visited websites to Bing. This problem was initially reported by users on Reddit and has been confirmed by Microsoft.
The cause of this issue lies in a default feature of Microsoft Edge called “Suggested Sites.” This feature aims to recommend new websites based on the URLs of sites visited by users. However, it operates without explicit user consent, meaning that Microsoft Edge sends the URLs to Bing even if the user does not desire this behavior.
To address privacy concerns, you can disable the Suggested Sites feature in Microsoft Edge. Simply open the Edge browser and click on the three dots located in the top right corner. From there, select “Settings.”
Within the Settings window, scroll down and choose “Privacy, search, and services.” Under the “Bing” section, uncheck the box next to “Suggested sites.”
Once Suggested Sites is disabled, Microsoft Edge will cease sending the URLs of visited websites to Bing, ensuring improved privacy for users.
