New Scientist: Glaciers and the polar caps aren’t the only places to be feeling the heat. The ice cover on America’s Great Lakes has apparently dropped by 30% since the 1970s, and there are all sorts of possible consequences. What’s interesting is that the loss of ice could actually lead to feedback effects which could make it easier for ice to form.
