Reuters: Abu Dhabi’s Masdar said on Thursday that a solar power plant under construction will provide first electricity to the planned carbon-neutral Masdar City late in 2009. The 10 megawatt photovoltaic plant, the first of its kind in the region, will supply any excess energy to the Abu Dhabi power grid, Masdar said in a statement.
