Teleplan Globe

Teleplan was established in 1959. The company has constantly focused on delivering high performance products and services to the global defence and telecom industry. That focus has today made us one of Norway&squo;s most significant exporters and most sought after company within the defence and civil sector. In demonstrating our capabilities year in, year out, we have been an indispensable partner and sub-contractor for companies known from the international arena for decades.

MAPPING AND SITUATION CONTROL FOR HANDHELD DEVICES

PocketMARIA is designed to support and enable situational awareness to special task forces and in the field operations using a standard or rugged Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). We have deployed the functionality you usually expect to find on your desktop control workstation to your handheld device. With PocketMARIA your mission and task information will stay in focus until completed.

HIGH PERFORMANCE MAP APPLICATION AND GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS)

MARIA is a high performance map application used to collect, present and filter position dependent information, providing decision support to numerous planning and analysis activities. The functionality includes track management, layered drawing tools and several analysis tools such as radar / radio / optical coverage, elevation profile analysis and time / speed calculations. It can be used as a standalone system or as systems building block. MARIA can be configured to meet a wide range of operator&squo;s and operational unit&squo;s needs, and the user interface is setting new standards for simplifying situational complexity.

PocketMARIA ‐ WORKSTATION FUNCTIONALITY ON YOUR PDA

The functionality of PocketMARIA constitutes a subset of the MARIA functionality. It is based on the same software libraries, but the user interface is developed specifically based on the characteristics of mobile devices. You will find functionality according to several standards, and our focus on developing user-friendly interfaces has been more a methodology than a requirement.

PORTABLE MAP DISPLAY AND MAP MANAGEMENT

PocketMARIA employs the same map format as the standard MARIA. Vector maps (VPF, S-57, ESRI Shape Files, SOSI, etc.), raster maps and elevation data (DTED) are all supported by PocketMARIA. Maps are prepared in MARIA Desktop and are easily exported to PocketMARIA using XML to exchange your data (maps, tracks and objects). The export function contains options for including elevation data and map scale settings defined in the map definition file.

The MARIA Desktop version is used for planning and deployment of information and mission data. That way you can deploy and prepare several scenarios in parallel for swift action.

PocketMARIA KEY FUNCTIONALITY

Some of the functionality you will enjoy when using PocketMARIA includes, but is not limited to:

Grid display (UTM, lat / long and GeoRef)

Profile analysis employing Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED)

Map display and navigation (zoom, pan, center to, etc.)

Cursor window displaying pen position, various elevation formats and bearing / range

Place name search

Drawn object display and selected MIL-STD 2525 tactical graphics

GPS interface

Location pins

Track lists and track properties (symbols according to APP6A/MIL-STD 2525 and NTDS)

PROGRAMMING AND NETWORK INTERFACE

PocketMARIA has programming and network interfaces that make it easy for developers to add or edit functionality with their own development tools. You will be able to develop and build your own add-in modules as well as functionality with our PocketMARIA Software Development Kit (SDK).

COTS SOLUTIONS AND COST BENEFIT

In almost any industry we see a trend to utilising COTS products to optimise cost-benefit requirement analysis. If you care about moving and delivering according to stringent demands, PocketMARIA and MARIA are the means to that end.

PocketMARIA and MARIA run on Intel based PCs running Microsoft Windows 2000/XP and handheld devices running on PocketPC 2002/2003 and Windows CE.NET v4.20.

We have the experience and knowledge already deployed in our COTS products to start that motion.
