General Electric is making a new entry into the emergency responder handheld detection market later this year with a lightweight combination biological threat and chemical explosives detector. The device is designed to work specifically in contaminated ‘hot zones’. The main goal during the development of GE’s StreetLab mobile was to allow emergency crews to carry one less gadget into the field.
