Vodafone Group chief executive Arun Sarin called for a reduction in the number of operating systems used in mobile phones amid a growing competitive landscape most recently gatecrashed by Internet giant Google. Sarin said the 30-40 operating systems now available must be reduced to between three and five to promote innovation within the industry.
