In what surely came as a blow to many Linux aficionados, Red Hat announced Wednesday that it will not develop a desktop implementation of the operating system for the consumer market anytime soon. “We have no plans to create a traditional desktop product for the consumer market in the foreseeable future,” the company wrote in a post on its blog, citing market pressures as its reason.
