Plasan

Plasan, established in 1985, specialises in the development and manufacture of ballistic protection products for military and civilian applications. Plasan’s expertise includes protection kits for aircraft and naval systems, bullet proof protection for vehicles and ballistic protection kits for armoured vehicles. Plasan also provide body armour, bullet proof tactical vests, ballistic shields and ballistic protection plates.

Plasan armour solutions are based on state-of-the art composite materials. These materials include metal composite and composite ceramic armour. Plasan’s flexible ceramic armour (FCA) and SMART armour are the next generation of ceramic add-on armour technologies; while the PL-2000 is the lightest armouring material capable of defeating AK-47PS and 7.62mm NATO ball ammunition.

ADD-ON ARMOUR PROTECTION KITS FOR MILITARY VEHICLES

Plasan has developed protection kits made of lightweight composite materials that provide maximum vehicle protection without limiting performance. Metal composite, ceramics and high pressure fibres provide protection against small arms, Improvised Explosive Devices and mines.

Armour upgrades have been developed to protect a vast range of military vehicles including:

Patrol vehicles
Trucks

BULLET PROOF PROTECTION FOR CIVILIAN VEHICLES

The Armour Protection Kit (APK) is a discreet, lightweight armour solution. The APK offers customised armour protection against threats up to 7.62mm. Its unique design provides optimal protection to the passengers.

The bullet proof Protection Armour Kit (PAK) is a discreet, lightweight armouring kit. The PAK offers customised bullet proof protection against threats up to 7.62mm. Its unique design has no vulnerable connection points, providing absolute protection to the cabin.

Customised protection kits are available for cars, vans and buses. Optional features include:

Composite armour (up to 7.62mm AP and fragmentation)
Jammer
Alarm system
Engine fire suppression system
Run-flat tyre system
One-way gun-port
Gas sprinkles and anti-gas system

PROTECTION AND MODULAR ARMOUR KITS FOR HELICOPTERS AND AIRCAFT

Plasan has developed and fielded cockpit protection solutions for aircraft expected to operate in forward battle areas. These solutions are designed to ensure flight crews and their passengers are provided a level of protection in order to increase their survivability.

Solutions include armoured seats for pilots and aircrew, providing protection against a range of threats from 7.62mm up to 12.7mm APM2 threats. Helicopter protection kits are available as modular, portable or fixed installation kits. They can provide floor, seat, wall and door protection up to 0.5in AP threats. The modular armour kits for the C-130 and similar transporters offer quick installation and removal.

BALLISTIC SHIELDS, BODY ARMOUR AND BULLET PROOF VESTS

Plasan ballistic shields offer protection to NIJ STD 0108.1 Type IIIA, III and IV levels. Used by mine clearance and SWAT teams, they feature a porthole providing a protected firing position. Plasan portable shelters offer protection to Type III NIJ STD threats. They are lightweight and feature cut-away edges for firing positions.

A wide range of tactical vests is available, conforming up to Level IV NIJ STD. They are all ergonomically designed for freedom of movement. The range includes the Tactical Assault Vest, Modular Protection Vest, with removable groin and collar protection, and Military Tactical Overvest. A variety of multi-curved ballistic protection plates are also available.
