On Saturday 11 April Edale Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) was called to Stanage Edge, a popular gritstone climbing venue in Derbyshire’s Peak District. A 25-year-old climber had fallen about 8m while abseiling.
The climber sustained serious pelvic injuries that resulted in substantial, life-threatening bleeding. Edale MRT members had been fundraising nearby and were able to reach the scene quickly.
