Critics of Fox News’ coverage of climate change issues were given a rich vein to mine in an email from a top editor to his staffers, which was made public recently. In the email dated Dec. 8 and made public Wednesday by Media Matters for America, Fox News Washington managing editor Bill Sammon instructed staffers to “refrain from asserting that the planet has warmed — or cooled — in any given period without IMMEDIATELY pointing out that such theories are based upon data that critics have called into question.
