NewsFactor – Apple has filed a motion in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Texas requesting permission to intervene as a defendant in a Lodsys lawsuit that alleges mobile-app developers are infringing on its patents. Although Apple has a license to the patents in question, Lodsys claims the agreement only allows Apple to act as an “agent” and developers are ultimately responsible for licensing the technology from Lodsys.
