Now that all our pockets contain phones and all those phones contain cameras, a societal panopticon has been formed, and nothing we do in public is safe from the never-blinking eye of YouTube and the like. If that sounds a little shrill, keep in mind it’s not all bad, as long as you don’t take yourself too seriously and aren’t in the habit of committing felonies in full view of other people. In fact, when everyone’s armed with a camera, life’s more enjoyable and spontaneous moments need not be lost to memory either.
